JFVVI Summer Youth Employment Opportunity
Reports to: Executive Director
Term: May 16 – July 31, 2022
Opportunity:
This Victoria, BC position will give the youth an opportunity to work in a granting organization which provides funding to member organizations on Vancouver Island. This position is meant to strengthen families, children and individuals within the context of their unique needs and traditions.
This position is mainly worked remotely with regular on-site meetings with particular focus on Covid -19 protections as mandated by Island Health.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Student will research and develop annual curricula for PJ Library books, including becoming familiar with PJ Library books, holiday themes and PJ Library values. The curriculum will be appropriate for preschool and early elementary children and provide virtual as well as in person options for program delivery.
- A successful candidate will be able to recruit and mentor parent volunteers for assistance with future and ongoing programming delivery.
- Student will provide PJ Library events during their employment term.
- Student will provide administrative support for the Executive Director.
